Pebbles

Pebbles is a group for children from four years and upwards, where they are introduced to the Christian faith in a fun, friendly and informal way..

Pebbles has continued working well, with a whole range of adults working in pairs with the younger children who come with their parents or guardians to the Parish Communion on Sunday mornings.

The group meets in the choir vestry during the first part of the service for their own ministry of the Word.  They usually rejoin the adult congregation at the peace.  Each of the leaders is with the group for six weeks.  In a previous summer, some of the children joined in the production of “Afloat in a boat…” a musical based on the story of Noah.

The group meets on Sundays at 10am and new members are welcome.

For more information contact us.

T Service

T Service is a regular event for parents/carers and young children, which meets fortnightly in Church for half an hour of worship, story time and craft activity, followed by a bring-and- share tea.

The T Service, now well into its third year, continues with enthusiastic support of children and adults, and a resolve to continue and grow on the foundations on which it was built.  Parents/carers are becoming more involved, gaining confidence in story telling, craft activities, prayer time, and domestic duties.

In the summer holidays, parents arranged a trip to Noah’s Ark Farm, a great day out for children and for the adults.  It is encouraging to feel this growing sense of joint ownership and team spirit.

The sense of fellowship with the church community and beyond, continues to grow and there is more overlap with Sunday worship, festivals, social activities and study groups.

The Osman bequest has enabled us to increase our video library, which has proved very popular, and provided us with a quieter activity after tea

                                         Diary for T Service
T-Service is a fortnightly session for children up to aged 10 held on Saturdays, in church, from 4.30 until 5.45 pm.  It includes songs, stories, art activities and prayers – and there’s a bring-and-share tea too.  So the children feel like they’re going to a birthday party every fortnight!
Parents can leave their children with us for the session if they’re school-age, or they are welcome to stay and enjoy the fun with us.
You don’t need to book, just bring your children along to St John’s church (not the hall) with something towards tea (like crisps, cakes, biscuits or fruit).
If you want to find out more about T-Service, please call Catherine on 9577911 or Charmaine on 9671466
